STAGES Youth Theater programming takes place in the unceded, traditional territory of the Wabanaki Confederacy – including the Maliseet, Micmac, Passamaquoddy, and Penobscot Tribes.
We recognize these lands were seized – and untold numbers of lives displaced or taken – through the violent practice of colonial settlement in what is now Portland, Maine.
We respect the past, present, and future citizens of these Tribes and their cultural healing and recovery efforts.
