Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka
Music and Lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, Anthony Newley
Adapted for the Stage by Leslie Bricusse, Timothy Allen McDonald
Based on the book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl

Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka follows enigmatic candy manufacturer, Willy Wonka, as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory….or suffer the consequences.

Apprentice students rehearse separately from the Main Cast and will take on ensemble roles in this production. All Apprentices will be featured prominently in the show, but will have the opportunity to rehearse with their own director, with plenty of time for questions and exploration of the script and music at their own pace.

“The best part about having my child in STAGES was it was a place where she could go and be herself. She was accepted and loved for who and what she is. As the parent of a special needs child that is invaluable.”

Mark Barrasso, STAGES Parent

“Thank you STAGES for helping me make friends. Thank you for helping me come out of my shell. Thank you for providing a safe place for me to explore myself and my art.”
