WELCOME YOUNG ADVENTURERS!
ACTING ADVENTURES!
for ages 7-9
Acting Adventures are immersive, hands-on, role-playing/theater experiences designed to meet Early-Elementary kids exactly where they’re at – building skills in story-building, problem-solving, character creation, and foundational theater concepts.
Each Acting Adventure is based on an original episodic storyline created by STAGES Teaching Artists. Young adventurers will immediately be immersed into the world of the story and will be guided through the next chapter in their adventure each week. Both narrative and interactive, Acting Adventures provide opportunities for students to contribute to the direction of the story, and to actively participate in the adventure in variety of ways, including:
- Role-playing original characters (and also interacting with other characters in the story)!
- Engaging with objects, accessories, scenery in support of the story (all items provided)!
- Collaborating with fellow adventurers to play games, solve riddles, crack codes, and creatively address obstacles in the story!
Each Acting Adventures series will conclude in an invited sharing presentation for family and friends at the end of the last class!
NO performance experience is required to join an Acting Adventure! Students are expected to arrive with nothing but their creativity, enthusiasm, and willingness to PLAY! Additionally, there are no expectations of memorization, intensive reading, or playwriting – all activities accommodate the wide range of early literacy skills found in these age groups.

TREASURE COVE – PIRATES & MERMAIDS
Meet pirates, mermaids, and other seafaring folk and creatures as you face new challenges and fierce adversaries in your search for the legendary TREASURE COVE! It will take creativity, collaboration, and resourcefulness to save the day, as the story continues each week with a new set of training exercises and obstacles to overcome!

Please note: We hope and expect to be able to hold these programs in our theater during the school year. We also acknowledge the COVID-19 pandemic is still evolving in ways we cannot predict. In the event of a pandemic-related or other disruption that would make in-person rehearsals and performances impossible, this program will transition seamlessly (in whole or in part) to an online format with a digital presentation.
WE RESPECTFULLY ASK THAT YOU DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS PROGRAM IF YOU/YOUR STUDENT ARE UNWILLING TO PARTICIPATE IN AN ONLINE FORMAT SHOULD THE NEED ARISE. There will be NO refunds for this program unless it is formally and fully cancelled (without in-person or online options) for any reason.
